Here’s the finished new linoleum print, the 19th addition to my bird portraits series. This portrait is inspired by the Blue jay. It’s a reduction linoleum print with 14 colour layers. And I just love the colour palette of this one, I’m a true fan of blue. I printed the last 3 colors simultaneously, which was kinda nerve-wracking as there was so little linoleum left on the plate that it took super focus inking and printing. I do mix all colors myself and I always make a lot of color tests to match the combinations of colors together and make all the blue shades blend nicely into each other for the feathers.
